IBISWorld values the integrity and security of our clients. In order for a client’s application to access our data, it must be authenticated. IBISWorld uses the industry standard OAuth 2.0 protocol for granting access.
To enable your application to make authenticated API calls:
- Obtain your Client ID, and API enabled Username and Password from your Client Relationship Manager.
Set up a POST HTTP call with the following content:
Parameter Name Value grant_type password client_id [Your Client ID] username [Your API Enabled Username] password [Your API Enabled Password]
- Send the HTTP request to https://services.ibisworld.com/OAuth/Token
Authentication of this request will respond with an appropriate access token that is valid for 24 hours.
All calls to the API must be made using POST and accompanied by two http headers:
- An “authorization” header containing the access token.
- A “Content-Type” header set to “application/json”
